“Porsche has presented its new 2.7 seconds 911 Turbo S.”
Based on the Carrera, Porsche has shown their new 911 Turbo S which now features a newly redesigned charge air cooling system that has improved the car’s responsiveness, power, torque, emissions and revving ability. Inspirited by a new intake system, the VTG turbocharged 3.8-litre Boxer engine delivers 478kW and 800Nm. A Porsche Doppelkupplung turbo-specific eight-speed gearbox helps propel the 911 Turbo S to a 100km/h from 0 in just 2.7 seconds with a top speed of 330km/h.
A sporty and agile look has been improved by increased dimensions with the front axle 40mm wider while the rear axle has increased in 20mm. Newly developed and adaptive aerodynamics include mixed tyre sizes with tracks that are 42mm wider at the front and 10mm at the rear. Adaptive aerodynamics now include controlled cooling air flaps at the front, while the larger rear wing has been designed for even more downforce. The Porsche 911 Turbo S rides on 20-inch wheels 255/35 rubber in front while 315/30 envelope the21-inch rim. Like all its siblings, the 911 Turbo S’ handling dynamics are managed by the Porsche Active Suspension Management sports chassis that has been lowered by 10mm.
A new front end with wider air intakes has a characteristic Turbo-look with dual front light modules as well as standard LED matrix headlights with dark inserts. The redesigned, pneumatically extendable front spoiler and the larger rear wing deliver 15 per cent more downforce. The muscular rear wing sections with integrated air intakes emphasise the sleek body of the 911 Turbo S. The new look of the rear is completed by rectangular tailpipes in high-gloss Black, typical of the Turbo.
Within the turbo’d 911 is a high-quality sporty finish with standard equipment that’s inclusive of a full leather interior with a combination of carbon trimmings and light silver accents. A newly designed two-tone interior will be available by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur as an option. This is characterised by a coordinated interplay of colours, materials and individual enhancements. The 18-way adjustable sports seats feature stitching that pays homage to the first 911 Turbo (type 930). High-quality graphic elements and logos in the instrument cluster complete the characteristic Turbo S features. The centre screen of the PCM is now 10.9 inches and can be operated quickly and without distraction thanks to its new layout. Other features onboard ex-works are the GT sports steering wheel, the Sport Chrono package with newly integrated Porsche Track Precision app and BOSE Surround Sound system.
